While the Cat Club itself is a decent venue with strong pours and good music, the staff here leaves MUCH to be desired. I'm a fairly social person and always enjoy talking to the staff near the end of the night. I used to work in a bar so I know how the nights can go. Standing outside I see the bartend and say Hi and ask how her night is going. She responds with, "I work here" in the most unpleasant snarl I've heard in quite a while, and turns her back to me. I'm now pissed off that I tipped her. Later I see a few guys leaving with some girls they met inside. The bouncers however seem to think that they are the morality police. They stop both of these dudes, saying, "I'm not letting you take them, you two aren't good people" The girls respond angrily that they can handle themselves and tell the bouncers to leave. The bouncers, being the standard of morality, will have none of this, even though they're no longer on Cat Club property, they feel it is justified to take a swing at these guys and to bodily pick up the girls and drag them off despite they're angry protesting screams. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior at any venue nationwide. I will not be returning to this venue and will recommend against it to anyone that inquires. The large group of drunk Hells Angels didn't seem to worry the bouncers at all, but a couple of college kids consensually leaving the bar together was enough to lead them to attempted assault.

Bootie is always fun. You can go there pretty much wearing anything (or nothing for the most part) and people will welcome you and pass no judgments. You can dress up, dress down, be a thug, hipster, raver, goth, or whatever other stereotype and feel at home, it's a mash-up event after all! I have a crush on Adrian. The music is awesome and all available online for free at http://bootiesf.com I've gone to Bootie countless times and for several events (NYE, Valentines) and it's always a blast. It does get crowded, it is loud, and you will get drunk-n-sweaty. The mash up band that performs is really great, they are coming out with a CD soon. umm -- I feel like a pirate cuz I love me some bootie. yarr!!!
