I'd give it a 3, maybe 3.5. Wife and I used a groupon. Was a nice deal with the groupon, we would not venture intown for it without the groupon. She had the veggie dinner, after noticing that the eggplant dish is not on the menu (although their website did show it). We had a little table for two, with another table for two about 12 or 16 inches to our right. And a window on the left featuring the dead carcass of Freddy the dead house-fly. I had the fried chicken. It was large bone-in breast, with skin on (I'd prefer skinless, but not that many places do this). It came with some veggies, some grits, and a really good tabasco-cream type gravy. The dinners were actually pretty reasonably priced (around 12-14). We also got an avocado-crab salad to make sure we spent enough. This was a bit of a rip at $10, although it was tasty. It was also kind of lost in this massive bowl. And the waiter brought out a 2nd gigantic bowl for us to share. I just used the bread plate. The waiter was quite affable and we gave him a solid tip, but we was pretty bad: had trouble remembering orders of various customers, after sitting for quite a while, we were wondering what these bread-plate like objects were for. Eventually, he asked us, 'would you like some more bread?'. We hadn't received any bread at that point. He eventually gave us a bag with two hot slices of bread. But I guess you have to eat it plain, because they didn't give us any kind of butter for it. I got a sweet tea, drained it pretty quickly, and never had anyone offer to refill it, although someone came by to refill the water. Too bad, because it was a very good sweet tea. After dinner we explored the market downstairs. It was quite intriguing. They had a communal looking table without all the noisy hustle and bustle upstairs. They had some homemade ice creams that looked intriguing, but we had no way to get it home without it melting. Overall: was a good groupon experience, we'll probably explore some other places. The service wasn't very good, although not in a rude way.
