by Angela C. on The food here is excellent and very reasonably priced. My husband is very picky about Tex-Mex, and after trying Gloria's, he requested we go there 3 more times within a month. The service has always been excellent; prompt and eager to please. The drinks are also wonderful, and they have happy hour all day on Thursdays and Fridays. I recommend the Strawberry Mojito as well as the Gloria's Signature Margarita. My husband has ordered the Fish Tacos, and they are packed full of whole Tilapia. We have also had the shrimp platter, combo beef and pork fajitas, and my personal favorite, the Combination #1. Some Austinite's will complain about the prices ($$), but I think they are fair when you consider the atmosphere (the restaurant is beautiful) and the fact that it's located in The Domain (I'm sure rent is extremely high). I highly recommend Gloria's to anyone!!
by Jennifer A. on We had a Young Scandinavians Club pub crawl and because Element around the corner were being asses, and wouldn't let 100 of us in, we went back to Vertigo, where the drinks were cheap, the music was great and they didn't kick us down from dancing on the bench! I think there was a pretty even distribution of girls to boys too, but I probaby had 1 too many cocktails to remember....It is on the smaller side and not Marina-ish at all(thank God) thus, not the kind of place you would even think to take a Balenciaga bag, so that's your own fault girlie...if you don't like loud and crowded go to Redwood Room and spend $12 on martinis to stand in the corner and stare at people!
