by Meghan M. on After paying a $35 cover, I went up to the bar and bought a drink for $8. It was the first drink I'd had all night, and being that it was actually pretty weak, I certainly wasn't drunk. No more than 20 minutes later, I went back up to the exact same bartender to order the exact same drink. She told me that it was $15. When I reminded her that just a few minutes earlier it had been $8, she accused me of lying. Angry, I told her I would order something else from a different bartender. She said that since she had already made the drink, I had to pay her or she would have security remove me from the club. Just a piece of advice...if you're gonna take advantage of drunk customers, maybe target the ones who are ACTUALLY DRUNK! Outside of that...fun atmosphere, good crowd, patio area outside where you can smoke.
by Tom M. on This place was totally disappointing. The department at the advertising agency where I work had been really excited about going here for a company happy hour. We had been planning it for weeks. Our selection was based on the location, decor, and nice patio. It is spring in Austin, we wanted to celebrate "al fresco" before the humind 90 degree + days became an everyday burden. So, 10 of us arrived at 6:00 pm on a Thursday evening, and got a lovely seating area inder a large magnolia tree. Our waiter was good, he kept up with our orders and was personable. After about 3 rounds and not too long after we had just ordered 3 pizzas it all went bad, in a big way. At 6:40, some hippie chick that was not even an employee, came over to our 3 tables and casually informed us that the patio was closing at 7:00, for a charity fund raiser. We were welcome to stay as long as we each shelled out $25.00! Fhut the Wuck!!!!!!!! What a buzz kill!!!!!!!! We all stared at each other in disbelief, just as we were getting comfortable in our metal "bouncy" chairs. It was too late to cancel the pizzas or we would have just split, we were so insulted. What the hell kind of management is running this place? Although we were reseated on the inside dining patio, it was too little too late. A complimentary round might have smoothed our ruffled feathers, but nothing was offered other than embarrased apologies from our poor waiter. We felt sorry for him, who through no fautl of his own, had to bear the brunt of our discontent due to his management's stupidity. There should have been signs about the findraiser stating that the patio would be closed at 7:00. There should have bee a been a verbal warning form the wait staff. Very unporfessional. Very stupid. Keep that hippie chick and her stupid fyers away from me. We will NOT be back.
