by Natassia S. on *DNA REGULAR!!* I basically live here. Me and my boyfriend come here like at least 3 times a week, Death Guild usually being one of my favorite events that we attend. The staff is absolutely rockin', lncluding the bartenders who are basically trying to kill all of us with their heavy handed drinks. Drink prices are pretty average for a night club and the cover charge is always reasonable. The crowd is always generally friendly for most events, though things like Bootie tend to have douchebags, but they're usually not that bad and if you get bothered by some aggressive asshole the staff is usually happy to 86 them, or at least keep an eye on them until they act up again. If you get really drunk they'll put you on the curb and not let you back in. Don't be an asshole to staff, that's just what they've got to do. It happens to the best of us, deal with it and drink that bottle of water they hand you and if you're lucky they'll let you back in when you sober up. So yeah, there's a reason I'm at this club so much and that is because this place is awesome! LOVE YOUR BARTENDER AND TIP HIM WELL!
by Jeanene Ragel on Great Afterhours Club! Mindful of the other reviews either love or hate this place (more than typical polarizing viewpoints)... I went with 2 friends around 4/5ish am. We had a great night upto that point and wanted to continue a little longer. The line was very short and we got in fairly easy. $30 cover is a bit steep (but perhaps I just don't know better because I rarely go clubbing). The hanging surface of LED lights was a great touch. The music was excellent for dancing. The crowd was fun and interesting. I noticed couple loose tempers, but the bounces seemed mostly in control. I do admit as we entered and go into the cashier line, one bounce said in a rudely/harsh way for everyone to keep moving (when at the moment, my friends and I couldn't move... not to say that was the case for everyone in the line). Other than that nothing too out of the ordinary for clubs that I have been to. I would definitely go back again for after hour dancing!
by Sherry Beesmer on I just went to the Velvet Room this past Friday for the first time. I had a good time. It was a little empty at first but once it started filling up, it was better. The DJ was okay. Played a little too much Bobby Brown, New Edition, etc. Would've been nice if I could sit down but...whatever. Still can't believe I stood in heels for 3 hours.
