**sigh** Where to start?? From the beginning I suppose... Sooooo.. We heard about a function that was supposed to be going down on a Sunday night and decided to try the place out.. We arrived at about 10 and drove by a nonexistent line.. so we decided to give it a few more mins and then drove by again.. There were a few people now.. We parked and went to the entrance... Minus 1 star for making me and my pic wait outside in 40 degree weather.. Plus 1 star for making the lames in dresses wait outside with us.. lol.. At around 1045 they let us in and some bouncer guy opens the door and says "welcome to myHouse" .. uhhhh thanks?? We get in and the decor is pretty nice.. couches, tables, a bar area that looks like a kitchen.. Super cute.. plus 1 First stop in myhous was the bathroom.. I almost died in there!! It was so dark I dang near ran into a wall corner! Not sure what they were thinking but a bathroom with dim lights is NOT ok!! Minus 1.. Seating?? Well we couldn't sit at any of the couches because we weren't buying the alcohol at the tables in front of the couches.. minus 1 because there were only 2 occupied tables the whole night Music?? Uhh.. I thought I was listening to the radio.. Minus 1 for the music (not sure what was going on but that dj is usually on point).. Finally they wouldn't let us leave out the front so we had to go out the side into the alley to get to the car.. really??!??!? Minus 1 for being completely inconsiderate and making us walk thru an alley at 1 in the am in LA.. Would I go back? Probably not... Seems like they're trying to be so high-end that they forget that in the end all people want to do is have fun, dance, rest, then dance some more!! Later on Cupcakes!

What is the deal with this place? I've had a hatred for mango's ever since my middle school decided that it would be a good idea to bring student government to this place as a "treat." That was back in 2002. This is the kind of place they want to keep the "riff raff" IN. The poor waitresses look like they keep working in calle 8 and their "uniforms" are absolutely horrific. There is a complete lack of personal space and curtsey. But reviews are not about what you knew you didn't like, but instead, for people who like this kind of thing. This place gets 3 stars because: 1. the music is actually good. They had live singers, even reggae, accompanied by...dancers. 2. the staff sucks. They complained about having 6 people sit at one of their tables when the limit is 5, but they refused to give us another table, does this make any sense? 3. As mentioned before, personal space? When the men do their little srtip-tease booty shakn' thing, the 50-year old women go crazy, the bar in the back fills up and strangers are grabbing on to your chair like its all good. It's not all good so BACK OFF. 4. The food sucks, i'm sorry but it's true. The food here sucks. What's even worse is that you HAVE to order something to eat if you want a table. It's not enough you are spending $200 on drinks, no, you HAVE to eat, however, half your group has to eat standing up (because the table is only for 5). So come to mango's for the hooke- i mean, dancers and the music, but skip the food and any expectations you have of being around decent people.
