Hmmmmm. I'm not really sure what to think of this place given there are more sofas than space to walk. I didn't know lounge was a literal thing. Another fun tip - 20% automatic gratuity, I guess bartenders don't even have to earn their money these days. If you are dressed to impress getting in shouldn't be a problem, although two girls who snuck in got escorted out (best part of the night considering they seemed like two snotty b*tches to begin with)...Place is small and they really pack it in despite the lack of room to stand and NO dance floor; coming here and jumping into sporadic dance routine is NOT an option. I found the crowd to be much older and a lot of GUYS, you would have thought the bouncers were told it was a gay establishment. All in all $200 and a free shot later from the bartender made this place make the cut..for now..let's see what it is like by Christmas.

Rouge is a let down.  The crowd was gamey and wasted.  We had bottle service and were privileged enough to have a passed out and vomitous barely-legal chump at the table next to us.  On the up side it didn't take long for security to spot the "I don't know how much is too much barfing toad" and toss him out.  Rouge has potential.  The décor isn't bad, the main bar is large and it has a roomy feel for a small club.  It's just a victim of bad execution.  Each time the DJ would spin a good song he'd cut it off for some non-sequitur by the time we got to the floor.  Rouge felt like a kindergarten club where yahoos go to cut their club teeth.  The most professional people at Rouge were the bouncers - I know why.

Beware of the chain link curtains. Your pant leg can get caught in them, and after you've had a few drinks you may need to have the bouncer help you untangle yourself. Not that I have any experience with that...not that I can clearly remember at least. What I do remember is a very swanky NY-esque club just adjacent to the more collegiate/touristy Pioneer Square scene. The upstairs VIP area is large and comfortable and affords you a great view of the action downstairs. And, wow, does downstairs ever get hoppin!!! They have a drum section, or at least someone with bongos and a few maracas, to compliment the DJ that is spinning that night. It makes the atmosphere seem much more festive. And, once you untangle your pant leg from the chain link curtain the maraca guy might let you have a hand at shakin' them!
