The drinks where good. The night I was there, lots of crazey moutain people running all about. One guy looked like Charles Manson. The place puts the Honk in HonkieTonk. I recomend it to all of my friends.

Went here with a group for a friend's birthday as a last resort.. I had never been, but considering it was the birthday girl's last choice, I didn't have very high expectations. The good: No cover, easy to get in, TONS of seating, good drinks, not difficult to get drinks at the bar. We did have to wait in line for a bit, but since we weren't paying, I wasn't about to complain. The bellinis were amazing, perfect peach-to-champagne ratio. We also had some shots that were made really well. Also, if you have trouble getting drinks at the upstairs bar, you can always go downstairs. The bad: dance area is really small and stuffy, wayyy high guy-to-girl ratio. This place is definitely better as a chill spot. If you want to dance, you barely get any space, the music is so-so, and I don't know about anyone else, but it was soooo stuffy and hot, I didn't last very long downstairs. Talk about guy-fest! I swear, my girlfriends couldn't walk a food without getting hit on. I guess if that's what your looking for.. but I just wanted to hang out with my friends. All-in-all, though.. it was a fun night.. It's so refreshing to find a place that doesn't charge you an arm and a leg to get in, for drinks, and then even more money to sit down. I will definitely be back.

My experience at Ajna last week could not have been any more horrible. I entered - or I should say "tried" to enter - the restaurant to join my friends for a 9PM dinner reservation on Friday night. Apparently you need to be on a list at Ajna to even come inside the restaurant for dinner. I was stiff armed by the bouncer at the door and told that my friends' names were not on the "list". As I called them inside I attempted to walk in the first set of doors into the atrium to avoid standing out in the cold. I was again stiff armed and the door was slammed in my face. The "list" guy - or whatever you call him - instructed the bouncer to escort me to the hostess stand, as if I was going to terrorize the place upon my entry. The host told me to wait a few minutes, but I walked straight to my friends' table once I saw them. The table was for two - I was the third - but a nice girl on the adjacent booth said she was happy to move over slightly so that I could join my friends. Within two minutes the manager (who may have been the owner given the absurdity of his bravado) approached the table, clearly ready to excuse me from the table. My friend met him on the way and explained the situation. The manager was not ready to have a dialog. He offered that I could wait by myself at the bar if I wanted to stay inside. He then told my friend that Ajna didn't need our money. Living up to his words, we left the remainder of our drinks and appetizers on the table and walked out of the restaurant. This place reeks of snobbery and a false sense of being a destination within the meatpacking. The truth is that my friend made his reservation for a Friday at 9PM just hours before we arrived. That wouldn't happen in a popular venue in the meatpacking district.
