My girl Rhianna puts it best "Please don't stop the music" - No excuse to whine when the bars close at 2 AM, because the End Up offers a wonderful alternative to going to bed. It's called "crack head watching". If you have never seen a 75 year old man grinding on a barely 21 asian girl...then you need to make a trip here. This is a druggies Disneyland, equipped with a romantic fire place, a vegas like fountain out back and a dance floor...oh and the bar opens back up at 6 AM. (I'm in line at 5:59 AM). The downside is the pricey $20 cover and long lines to get in after 2 AM (although we've tipped the bouncer $30 in the past and avoided the line). I've made a lot of good friends here for the night, but when day breaks I must vanish for fear of getting caught walking out of the End Up.

After missing out on a couple of gatherings, I am pleased to say that I finally made it to Woodfire Grill. The interior has a very homey feel to it. It reminds me a lot of my parents home, kind of rustic and warm, like a cabin in the woods. I especially liked the roomy, bar area with the copper topped bar, long narrow pub table and the some what secluded pockets for more intimate seating. I think it would be a nice, casual place to meet a date for drinks. We opted to dine at the bar and had first rate service from Chris. I ordered the Blackberry Bramble that all the rateclubsers have raved about. It was delicious and Lauren S. and I were sad to hear that there was not enough Blackberries for another round. Chris our bartender, suggested the Peach Blossom, which I was a little leery about and he explained that it was made with an Elderberry liquor. After we sampled the Elderberry liquor, we were sold and pleased to find that it had a very light taste to it. It would be very refreshing on a hot and humid summer day. For dinner, I chose a trout dish from the bar menu. Chris was very helpful in finding out the ingredients that were involved. I appreciated that he went above and beyond to talk to the Chef about altering it and making it Gluten Free. My trout was fried without breading and delicious, but I have to say that I was a little disappointed that there were only two small domino shaped pieces of fish. I guess that is what I get for ordering from the bar menu. Or, perhaps I should have gone with the burger like Lauren. It was packing a lot of girth and she had to slice it in half to make it manageable. Despite my tiny, yet yummy meal, I appreciated the warm environment, wonderful service and the delicious drinks. I look forward to returning in the near future. Hopefully they will have enough blackberries for our next visit.
