by Raul Walkins on I'd give this place 3.5 stars if it were an option -- I like it, but it isn't the best bar in the world. I've been to Vertigo 3 or 4 times now, and every time I go there I'm always surprised by the diversity I see in the people there - from people who look like they're under 21 to people who look like they are in their mid 40's, some hipsters, some trendy, some urban, just all different kinds of people. For girls I wouldn't say it's really a place to meet cute guys, but it was really fun dancing and they played good dancing music. The last two times I was there some guys got kind of intense on the dance floor (grabby and won't leave you alone), but I guess that comes with a small dancing area and lots of alcohol. Overall the place isn't amazing, but I always end up having a better time there than I thought I would - maybe due to the alcohol and friends I'm with.
by Ike Raybould on I'm on the fence between giving Saint three or four stars. I'll give it 3.5 and round down to 3. Saint is hidden tucked away down the alley next to Copley outbound T Station. We meandered down here on a snowy night for a friend of a friend's birthday and, due to our host's preplanning, were ushered into the club immediately. Not your typical club, Saint looks kind of like someone took a basement, divided it up into different rooms, added several sound systems and bars, and called it a day. A lot of the people here were very Euro-trashy, so if that's your thing, then Saint is your mecca. Men with tights shirts, gelled hair, and lots of cologne abound. Despite these drawbacks, I have to admit that I had a fantastic night at Saint, although this may have had alot to do with my company. Drinks were strong, there's a good variety of different music (rooms play varying music types), and it's dark enough that you can dance around like an idiot without making a complete fool of yourself. If that's not a sign of a good night, I'm not sure what is. Saint is a mixed bag, but if you're looking to escape the typical Faneuil or Boylston bar scene, this may be your place...
by Rachel P. on How can the cat club have ONE dollar sign. Last time I checked TINY cups filled with 10 dollar cocktails wasn't a deal! UNCOOL -ten dollar drinks -hating on pot smoking in a smoking alley...patients rights biaches!...and the buddah head always says yes! -sweating through my shirt -losing my recently reclaimed hat b/c im a total ass of a drinker -waiting in line for the bathroom EVERYTIME i gotta liquidate COOL -Mishca=sexy and eventful pat down -sassy dance moves -bad ass, sometimes hot bartenders -not being embarassed to be here once sloshed -introducing my girlfriend and I for the first time....then proceeding to make out in the sketchy alley right near the club....i guess i owe you for this cat club.... MOST IMPORTANTLY the bacon dog cart frequently kicks it outside, which makes me want to give cats one extra star, but im not. OH and sometimes upstairs turns into chez badunkadunk, and oh yes that is a strip club with lap dances!
