A great place for a few good laughs. Yes, parking is a bitch. Either cough up the $5 for valet or take a co-pilot with an eagle eye to help you spot the few-and-far-between spaces in the residential area (note: easier after 8/9 pm) Best thing about this place is the two-ITEM minimum. Most other comedy places require two-DRINK minimum, but here the pizza, fries, and desserts count as an item. How you like them apples? Space is small enough so any seat is a good seat -- my friend and I were posted on the side wall and had a great time. Refried Fridays is a good chance to see a gauntlet of comedy -- Erik Rivera, Edwin San Juan, and Adam Richmond has me knee-slappin' the night away! Head's up: we saved on the cover by requesting tix from the comedians through facebook (note: this is done classy status, NOT trashy status) That was $15 - $20 we could spend on drinks now ...whuuuutttt?

The food is good and I like scorpion bowls but I don't like the manager or his brother/cousin the head bartender. They're douche bags. And I know from an employee they don't wash the scorpion bowls, they give it a quick rinse then refill it Gross

Ahhh...1984..how can anyone diss this honkey tonk? Yes its decades from honk and not in the slightest a tonk, but it's a virtual cornucopia of appealing cheese and eye candy-not to mention great music from a time when Reagan, Thatcher, and corporate American reigned supreme. I totally dig this place and the people. Shout out to Matthew who was my inadvertent dance partner and yes babe...love WILL tear us apart. And yeah who could forget the scissor dance girl who skipped merrily on her skimmers to teach us all a few good moves in her Hayley Mills-esque outfit which happily fit in with all the others. Hats off to those trying to bring back (with much gusto) the Planet Earth dance which is quite different from the goth "washing the windows" dance. Power to ya'all. My favorite is the back room, where the Danceteria music fairly shakes the walls, coupled with the visual aids of (gasp) music videos. There behold the visual glory of OMG, Visage (whom Fischerspooner copies with no shame), The Cure and more, when they cornered the market on Aqua Net. Beware the front room for one reason alone...people were dancing to Bon Jovi-how is that possible? Had I secretly been transported to a Jersey Shore dance club? All in all 1984 flicks my bic-love it, love it, love it!
