by Vaishnavi J. on Just had a great Friday night here at Ecco last night, as part of the Hollywood Club Crawl (separate review on that). We had a great time! The DJ spun and remixed some amazing Top 40s stuff along with some house and hiphop. Loved it. Drinks were between $11 - $14 per drink, so definitely account for that in your calculations. There were a good number of people on the dance floor but there are nice chill areas by the sides and at the bar too, in case you don't feel like dancing at some point. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is that we had VIP access and so didn't have to wait at all - so I can't speak to how crowded/difficult it usually is to get in. But we had a great time!
by susy h. on This club is next to Cabana Club. Back when Cabana Club used to be Sunset Room, the Green Door used to be a part of Sunset Room. Now, the Green Door is a smaller/ private club that Cabana can open to extend the venue. I was here last Thursday for the Harold and Kumar premiere party.... AND I MET MCLOVIN'! Me: OMG! I am such a huge fan! McLovin: (looks at me weird) Uh, thanks. Me: OMG! No, like I really love you. Today on my facebook I put my status as Susy McLovin' McLovin: LOL (in that McLovin' way). Me: (I cut him off while he is stil laughing because I'm all nervous and ish). Will you take a picture with me? McLovin: Sure. McLovin is such a sweetie! I know he was looking at me while I was hovering over him at the bar for 10 minutes while my friend Spanksta was like GO TALK TO HIM! Haha. Dunno how much the drinks were because it was open bar. And they had lil sliders, mac and cheese, chicken strips, salad and some other pasta thing there. Food was yummy but they took it away at like 12 am. =(. Hmmmm, I wonder if that mac and cheese is their famous mac and cheese. Other stars that I saw: The guy that did Stifflers Mom (aka MILF do-her) Jason Biggs Sylar (whom ppl say is gay?) any word on this? John Cho Seth Rogen (guy in Knocked Up) Christopher Charles Mintz- Plasse (McLovin') Yeah, I get star struck. Yeah, Green Door probably shouldn't have let me in. Parking is $6 at the big structure on Ivar (right across the street from Cabana Club/ Green Door.
by Loyd Chesney on M.E. and I threw the most fabulous joint-birthday get-together at Vertigo and Kenny and Yuri definitely took care of us. We made sure to get there early to take advantage of the happy hour (goes till 9pm). The large and well-ventilated smoking room was a big hit with our guests. Got a bit too crowded for me after 11 pm and the crowd seemed to be on the young side. But all around a very fun night. I'm definitely going back. Highly recommended.
