We had reservations for 7:00p. While the bar was packed (and a little loud), the restaurant was.... empty? We were the only ones, and we hoped, just the first for the evening. As other rateclubsers have noted, the crips and naan with sauces is amazing. The tamarind chutney is some of the best I've had. We split an order of the empanadas as a starter. These were simply amazing -- correctly fried, not dripping in oil, and pleasantly spiced while letting the coconut flavor shine through. We were very impressed, and with this, we knew we were in for a good meal. My friend had the curried ravioli, and my bite of it tasted like heaven. That's what I'm getting next time. I had a nightly special; I think it was an Alaskan Halibut with a mango salsa. Delicious -- fresh, not fishy -- and the salsa had the right tang to it to bring out the flavor of the fish. HOWEVER: I'm not one to eat in cold, sterile environments, and that's how I felt at Prana. White tableclothes, light cream seating, white walls, white and black checked (just polished) floor -- see where I'm getting? And no windows in the restaurant. OK, it's a club, I get that - but the sterile thing threw both my friend and I off. We'll be back to enjoy the food, but don't expect amazing/elegant decor.
