by Stacy Y. on We hardly ever go out to the bars so I'm not the best critic for this, but I loved Trigger. The first time I went in here was after the Gay Pride Parade. A group of us had decided that Trigger would be our meet up place after the parade. We would have a few drinks and then head out from there. We ended up staying for hours. The pre-mixed Mojitos were AWESOME and the music had tons of people getting up on the small dance floor. At least I think its meant to be a dance floor. I had a lot of mojitos so maybe it wasn't a dance floor. They have a little outside seating area for people watching as well as for the smokers. Inside they have neat little booths to gather in as well as an upstairs that looks down on the ground floor. There is a cage and bars that I assume half naked people swing from when it gets later. The place seems high end and modern. The only thing that I found disturbing that night was the bar tender who wasn't wearing a shirt. He had extremely large nipples! Not large as in long, but large as in circumference. I don't mind saying I was a little scared of them.
by Retha Letarte on I admire this place because they change their space for different event they are hosting. I came for Point Break Live. Point Break Live: FIVE STARS! Amazing!!! You should definitely see this show, prepare yourselves for a mess though. Back to the bar. My friend bought a New Castle for $7, WTF??? Is all of Hollywood like this? The interior is dirty and grimy, and exactly what I would expect a Hollywood bar to be like. There was only one bathroom, and the girls waiting in line in front of me were cussing up a storm, talking about how it's inconceivable that a bar should only have one bathroom. I thanked myself for not spending $7 on a beer, that I would have to piss away anyways after waiting in line for 10 minutes. But I ended up having to wait in line to wash off the blood and sperm... Anyway, I won't get more in to that. Ehem, just see Point Break Live! I might come back here for other events/shows/bands whatever, because it is an open and airy space. But I won't be purchasing alcohols.
by Fredia Gunter on I HEART MOOD!!!! Ok, so maybe I'm partial to the fact that I met my beloved here through mutual friends. Or to the fact that one of my favorite bartenders of all time mixes drinks here. Orrrrr that I've had some amazingly fun and drunken times with my friends. The place is pretty small for a club and lounge, particularly the dance floor, but I love the venue itself. Whoever designed this place had an eye for detail, because every inch goes with the theme. Lots of couches around that aren't all reserved for bottle service, and the area in the back is the smoking area with a ventilated roof. Be sure to hit up Terbo the bartender in the back, the guy's got jokes for endless amusement and mixes some toxics in a glass... particularly his infamous "terbo" shot. He won't reveal whats in it, but the damn thing gets me effed every time!! Always great DJs spinning, and the vibe is very fun and laid-back from a club. One of my faveeeeees
