by Tara M. on I think this place was excellent! They had a great dj playing awesome music all night long. Our waitress was very helpful and attentative. I like that the steaks come in three size options. The mac and cheese was amazing and so was the bread! Then we ordered these cute and delicious mini ice cream cones for dessert! Very cool ambience and New York feel... I will definitley be going back very soon! A+ all around!
by Rob Dovey on A night at Opera is worth it if: - you get a VIP balcony and bottle service - you go by cab We used to occasionally come here in college when it was still Eleven50. On a recent trip back to Atlanta, a friend treated us to a table/bottle service to show us the renovation, and we had a fantastic time. No cover, no waiting in line, and a private balcony overlooking the entire main dance floor and DJ booth. The tunes were amazing that night and the decor was massively upgraded. Add that to the nostalgia factor and it made for a great night out. Alas... let's get realistic. VIP tables and college reunions don't happen every weekend, so I'm not sure if that situationally awesome experience would apply to any routine visit to Opera. Some clubs feel swank with a table or without, but I don't get the feeling that this is one of those places. The line was incredibly long at midnight, the crowd seemed a bit heady (a higher than average ratio of frat-tastic guys running around), and from what I overheard, run-of-the-mill drinks on the main floor are absurdly expensive. Definitely the place to be if you're looking for an opulent night out, removed from the main floor. Otherwise, a fun but standard Atlanta club.
by Coy Abril on ehhh...not so into it. not sure if i get what's so special about this place, although i'm not a clubby type of chica...so even though i get off on the occasional celeb sighting, i'm just not the right breed to enjoy marquee. it is pretty big, but the smaller rooms get packed and the main room is annoying to navigate through. i will say the top room is the most aesthetically pleasing, to me anyway, and would be ok to hang out up there if it wasn't crowded and if you could actually sit on the couches and stuff. the bathroom has like..WAY too many bathroom products. who really needs all that crap? i understand the mints, perfume and that jazz i guess, but in this bathroom i thought i had walked into a duane reade. simma down, bathroom decorating people. i practically had to stand on my tiptoes to see in the mirror above the hair spray and spray deodorant or whatever the hell was in there. not sure why that annoyed me so much, but it was just unnecessary. anyway, i can see how this could be a good space for a private party, but...don't wait in line.
