by Meg M. on I finally went to 1oak, after almost going there countless times. It was on a Sunday around 1:30am. The crowd was fun and the DJ was awesome. I would have given it four stars but for some reason I wasn't too impressed by the decor. After hearing what a "hotspot" this place is I was expecting a bit more....overall I had a great time and would come back to drink and dance.
by Al Vandover on we went on a Saturday night. This place smells weird. Especially upstairs. but we stayed upstairs since our table was upstairs and music is better. but overall bad. My friend got mad since this stupid drunken guy grabbed her butt downstairs when we're just passing thru. I told her you should have slapped his face. What a mess. And guys are very aggresive. Not a fan. Everytime someone mentions Marquee, we are like Noooo~~
by Lindsey Apolinar on I love seeing a "People Love Us on Rateclub" sticker on the door of places I haven't been to in years. It makes me happy knowing that after so much time, the place still rocks. Vertigo proudly displayed their sticker in the window, and I was certain that I would be having a good time there. After hanging out with a bunch of knock-out Rateclubers at Titanium, we moved the party down the street to Vertigo. Last night, the bar was pretty empty, which was perfect, because our group of 10+ who didn't want to go home just yet was able to have the place to ourselves. Lots of space to hang out and the awesome bartender kept our thirst buds nicely quenched. I saw the sign above the bar that said $5 blended mango margaritas and I knew right then and there that it was what I wanted. The bartender blended one up for me right away, and it was so Rateclubilicious that 2 other fabulous Ratecluberinas decided to order it. After I finished the margarita, I was generously offered a vodka gimlet, and that was amazing as well. The bartender was so nice that he even let our newest Ratecluber and party animal, Mr. Winkle, join him behind the bar. The DJ was just as cool, and let Mr. Winkle get into the booth and spin some tunes. I know it sounds wacky, but the staff was so sweet to amuse (er, put up with) our group with genuine looking smiles. Now our group was happily gabby and buzzed, and we started talking to strangers who asked us where we had gone earlier and how we knew each other. I'm happy to say that by seeing and hanging out with our fun loving group, these strangers were converted to Rateclub. They took out their Blackberrys and iPhones and immediately jumped onto Rateclub Mobile. Hallelujah, Rateclub on earth!
