The Beacham - About Us
The historic building that serves as home to The Beacham boasts a long and storied past playing host to high caliber recording artists such as Tori Amos, Lauryn Hill, Pat Travers, Soundgarden, FloRida, The Pixies, Good Charlotte, Pink, David Byrne of Talking Heads, along with some of the most notable DJ’s in the world like Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Benny Benassi, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Razor & Guido & many more.
Originally opening on Orlando’s Orange Avenue in December 1921, the venue was purpose-built to host vaudeville acts, later to become a cinerama, and in its latest incarnation a nightclub and live music venue. Current renovations take the theater back to its original era while state-of-the-art sound and lighting effects progress the venue into the future. Downtown Orlando’s largest entertainment destination is everything from a pumping nightclub late night on the weekends to a progressive live music concert hall where you will hear anything from breakthough artists of the year to internationally touring acts.

I got to visit the infamous "Compound" on New Year's day. It was crazy crowded. I was with my boyfriend and guy friend visiting from NC. We did not arrive until 11:30pm and the parking was a beast. After paying 20$ to park and walking thru gravel in heels, I was annoyed to say the least. This place was advertised as free all nite but when we saw the line we considered wasting our 20$ and turning back. It literally looked like the wrap around lines at six flags! The cut line was 20$ and was epic long but moved swiftly. Sadly, we gave in. After being groped by security, I remember thinking, damn she could at least bought me dinner. Once past the circus outside, we found a gorgeous, swanky club. The club is both indoors and outdoors. The outdoors has lounge like seats, pretty lights in a courtyard style. There are bathrooms outside that are unisex! WTF, this was beyond awkward when I looked up to see a guy beside me washing his hands and hitting on a chick at the same time. The inside was divided into about 3 areas. Each area was more musty and crowded than the next. The main area housed the largest VIP booths with my other man Cam Newton in attendance:) My guy friend was in disbelief of all the big booty, beautiful women. I told him to close his mouth. I do admit this place is a man's dream crawling with pretty girls EVERYWHERE! I am sure this place can't alwayz be that packed as that night. I wanna do VIP here one day, b/c when u go here u need a place to retreat. It was super fun, despite all the ppl.

This place has stood the test of time. That says IT right there. Everyone else's reviews are just. Cover is $5 no more than $10ish, but the music and dance are serious. Be prepared for a packed house on wknds. Hip hop heads.. this one's for us.
