by Eric Loshbaugh on I love these old theatres so much for live music. Keep in mind that I have never been here for the club style parties. I have only seen hard rock acts here. Parking was easy. I think I parked in their lot, which was free, and the guys working the lot were really helpful with the in and outs. It's difficult to deal with a bunch of metal heads anyway, but after a show with drunks running around, and everybody wanting to leave NOW, they more than handled it. The staff inside was cool too. I like it when I don't get the prison style hustle from the front door security people. I know what kind of crowd goes to the kind of shows I go to, and I know it is easy to say, "These can be some rough types who are young and unruly, so you have to be firm with them." Too often this is the reason that there is this militaristic vibe from venue staff if you go somewhere to see a punk band, or any kind of hard/heavy rock act. Younger patrons who may be under the influence get marginalized and treated like dogs too many times. The venue is just thinking that these little shits are going to put up with whatever we do to them because they have no other option. Well, they are right, but it's always nice when I go to a place and the staff is smart enough and professional enough to just be respectful of people despite the fact that there is probably a lot of boneheads around who don't deserve to be respected. Whew, onto other things. The sound in this place is the best I have ever heard. I also love the interior layout. So many places to wander, and so many options on how you want to watch the show. None of them are a bad choice. THE KEETH
