by Marian B. on 3.5 Old Hollywood classic. Chill lounge vibe by the pool. Good place to have a few drinks and chill with friends. Lots of space and a nice place to hang out before going to the crazy clubs. Downside is the power tripping, super *BLEEP* in the front that gave us a hard time even when our friends had a table, it was his bday, there was NO line outside and inside was still EMPTY! WOMAN, get over yourself!
by Winford Moote on It seems like people give this place less then 4 stars mostly because of the extremely selective doorman. ::shrugs shoulders:: If he wasn't like that this place would quickly become similar to the other failed relics of hot clubs in MPD. Greenhouse is still hotter then global warming and I fully expect it to stay that way. I won't lie that you better be on someone's list to get in but the space is still absolutely amazing. The downstairs with it's hanging leaves and bamboo flooring made me feel like I was in some wild jungle party dancing to adrenaline pumping techno. I have no clue when the party actually ends here- it was damn near 5:00am when we left the still pumped crowd to head home. Good for the environment, perhaps not great for your ego. If your not rolling with Diddy or buying three bottles don't take it to heart if you don't get in so easily.
by Dillon Maohu on Well "Deep" goes down on Sunday nights at Club Vanguard from 9 p.m. up until 3 or 4 a.m. (I can't quite remember). On this night you'll find ONLY House music, nothing else. I'm a bit of a House fan myself so I didn't think the music was all bad. Plus this place usually has a good DJ spinning for you all night long. This place wasn't that crowded like Friday and Saturday nights, actually its about 50% less of a crowd. If I could rate on different aspects of the club they would be like this: Music: 4 stars, Drinks: 2 stars, Clientele: 3 stars, Decor: 4 stars. I really like how they have a huge patio, and yes there's a lot of smoke but if you have no problem with the smell then it's pretty cool. Like I rated, the drinks are steep here (typical Hollywood club prices). I paid $12 for a Cape Cod with Grey Goose. The music is different on different weekend nights, so get it straight. Friday is more mixed music from Alternative to Hip-Hop to Trance to House. Saturday night is definitely Trance and Progressive type music, and depending on who's the DJ, you are looking at a minimum of $20 to get in and expect to pay more for special DJ performances (I saw Benny Benassi there for $30, but Tiesto for $75!). Good looking girls here with a mix of outgoing and stuck up people. The races of people were very well diversified. Check it out. And if you want to save some money, buy your tickets for special performances in advance if you can, or get on their guest-list to save a couple of bucks.
