Hotel Roosevelt..eerily vintage glam Hollywood architecture. You can bet silver screen starlets continue to stomp these grounds..making an occasional after-death cameo that scares the shit out of the maids and hotel guests. Came here on a Friday night for the poolside lounge. It's a mission to get to the pool area. From the main entrance, you have to walk all the way to the back of the hotel, descend down a flight of stairs, walk through the valet entrance, and hang a right to the door. One of the staff was kind enough to walk us over. This is one of the few places in L.A. with a decent sized pool. It looks like an ocean compared to most of the pools that host pool parties in the city. This is the perfect place for chatting before going "out out" because the music isn't blasting and you can chill comfortably without being crowded or knocked around by people dancing or the area being way too packed full of people. It's pretty back there, decent amount of seating, very spacious. It didn't get busy or lively until around the time we left. DJ was cool, played a nice mix of everything. The crowd was mixed..mid twenty to thirty somethings and of course your spattering of old people & out of towners here & there. It would probably help to come as a group of girls and/or only if you know someone at the door, because they can get pretty nazi. I heard one of the guys had to pay $50 to get in even though his friend had a table. I'll definitely check out the pool party..heard it was the business. And who knows, maybe I'll catch a glimpse of Marilyn Monroe next time I primp in the mirror in the ladies room.

I do like clubbing every now and then. Makes me feel young and all that crap.  It's especially good when you're on a list and/or don't have to shell out a SINGLE penny all night! Everytime I review a club, I'm going to make it as objective as possible to minimize any snarky comments rooting from my general dislike for the club culture, "negative bias" if you will. PROS of Greenhouse + It's "green" and therefore presumably good for the environment. Yay! for the environment. + The music was GREAT.  A good mix of house, techno, and hip-hop. I'm so glad I wasn't stuck there only listening to Kanye moaning. + My friends bought me drinks, since I had bought drinks the previous night.  Only I bought $6 drafts, and they bought $12 G&Ts. What are friends for if not to pay double of what you pay? + We were on a list.  It was our friends brithday and she's in PR, so we did not have to pay any cover. + The crowd was stylish and attractive. CONS of Greenhouse - Much like the "Green movement," Greenhouse is inefficient.  We had to wait 30 minutes despite being on the list and the birthday girl had to come out and convince the bouncers that we were in fact on a list and "fabulous enough" to set foot inside Greenhouse. - The place was packed to its brim.  There was hardly any place to move.  Luckily, we found a great corner away from the bar and by what seemed to be a maintenance quarter hidden behind the curtain. - This the worst. The bouncer blatantly denied two slightly "large" girls entry into the club, while letting all the people behind them inside.  There was no mistaking the intention... and they wonder why people suffer from eating disorders?!

i apologize in advance if my review makes no sense becuz i'm..........the opposite of sober right now....... just came bak from this klub an hour ago and wat the shittt, i've never seen so many asians in one place at one time besides pc cafe's back in the day, lollerskates. well moving alongg, let's breakk it down, price-wise.... -valet parking= ~$20 i believe, but i wouldn't know since i managed to find street parking a block up from the club -cover= $20, you get a red raffle ticket thing which u hand over to a person near the club's inner entrance -bathrooms= to the right side of the cover charge table, look for the neon blue signs M and W. if i have to explain what those letters stand for, seek help immediately and/or stop drinking while reading this -dance floor= it's actually quite whale penis and the dj spins decent music while two gogo dancers do the Helen Keller (you know....shut your lips and move them hips......you lookin kinda cute....in that neon orange bikini girllllll.....HEY!) -outside= there's a nice sized smoking patio with lamps, tables and wraparound couches, and a bar on the right now a few warnings for you first timers.... *FYI, fridays are "asian" night, which might be a good thing or bad thing depending if that's your scene and vibe.  i've also heard Saturdays are nucking futs with the event, Giant going down with well known dj's spinning with a more diverse crowd. *credit card tab= MINIMUM tab is $40, which also might be a good thing or bad thing depending on how much you drink and tip (ex: heineken is ~$7, whiskey and coke ~$11...so your tab could easily end up being over $40, i'd recommend chugging some champagne/wine/beer/vodka or whatever before walking in) ....in conclushun, all in all, this is a pretty chill spot to dance with high-maintenance girls while drinking overpriced alcohol WHILE dancing to Journey and Kanye West being mixed together. wot son! like get confused?! now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna heave a hundred bucks down the toilet. sweet dreams!
