I had lunch at Tao for restaurant week. The decor is amazing and the food was good but our waitress was, well a bit on the dry side. We asked her for a recommendation and she seemed confused by the question. She just wasn't very warm at all. While the food was good, the drinks were way, way overpriced ($8.50 for a sigha beer?!?!?) and if it weren't restaurant week, I would not pay full price for the food. It was good, but not spectacular and certainly not worth the price. In this case, you pay for the "chi-chi" factor more than anything else.

I came here for a casting call event that included rotating DJ's spinning, models getting photos taken and a cat-walk audition. I liked the architecture (industrial) and the view of the Bay was incredible. I hear that the patio area isn't normally opened very long, but we got some special treatment for whatever reason. I sat on one of the leather sofas out there and was surprised to find that it was warm - strategically positioned underneath a heat lamp! Clever. This place was a little small for a night-club, but it reminded me a lot of my raver days (all of about 6-months-worth) back in St. Louis. Three stars for incredibly cheap (but well-made) drinks. Fabulous event, thank you, Madi! Mai, I'll see you on June 12th... Sonny... I look forward to those pictures, yo.

This place has great atmosphere and I love their neon sign.  I have never eaten here so I can't speak for dinner service but the bartender was nice and the drinks were not too expensive.  I like a good dark bar and they also had an upright bass and piano player the night I was there which was a nice touch though I normally prefer a good jukebox at a bar.  I like that it is kinda off the beaten path too.
