by Casey S. on Lots of TV screens, none of which can be heard. Insane amount of beers will keep you happy. I'm more of a cider person, and they have about five choices, including hard lemonade. No hard liquor here, just beer and cider. They also have food on the menu, but I've yet to try that. I hear the pickled eggs are great. I'm happy enough with the free peanuts from the empty keg in the middle of the room. There's two coin-operated pool tables ($1). There's also two shuffleboard tables upstairs - trade your drivers license for the pucks at the bar. They have trivia night on Tuesday, but I've found it to be disappointing. It's more of the "think up some porn titles from Beatles songs" variety.
by Bucky K. on Rio, Rio, you dance upon the sand... Oh Rio, Rio I'll drink in your Rio land..... or something like that. Stella on tap for two-fiddy during happy hour. TWO-FIDDY!! Nothing else matters really, but I'll share with you in case that isn't enough. (and if it isn't enough, you are no friend of mine...) Entering into this fine Mission establishment, you have to open a half door. I don't know the technical term for it,... there is a top and a bottom to the door and I've never understood the practicality of it except for pratfalls for the Three Stooges. Once inside, the first thing I noticed was a sweet shuffleboard table to the right and the bar to the left. Very long, dark, and narrow... there's a joke in there somewhere. After passing the bar the only thing that stands between you and the patio is a pool table. The patio is quite a surprise. It is everything the bar isn't. It is short, wide, and bright. One of the better patios in the city. Lots of tables and a even a working bar-b-que which was in full use during my visit. However, I took off before I the wares were available for sampling... Another great dive bar for the Mission...
