Earlier this summer I went to Griffin with a group of friends for the first time. It was me, another guy, and three girls. Around 12:30 we showed up to get a table. There was virtually no line which had us a bit worried. One of the guys said we got there "just in time" meaning the crowd was on its way. But, we basically blew that off as puffery. Hector was very friendly and accommodating and gave us no hassle at all. Our table was great, the place was moderately crowded, and our hostess was very attentive. As far as decor, Griffin is a beautiful departure from the modern look for which so many other places seem to strive. The chandelier, velvet couches, and Industrial Revolution era look presents a very upscale, almost cozy, feel. At first, the blatant lack of a dance floor was bothersome. But, we soon realized that dancing in the aisles only help add to the very intimate atmosphere. We started off slow, lounging, sipping our drinks, and enjoying the ambiance. Soon, however, this place got INSANE! By 1:30 the place was packed. The bottle service was fantastic, the party got wild, the music was incredible, and the whole vibe was unlike any other club experience I have ever had. Again, I think the intimacy of the place is what sets it apart. It lends itself well to interacting with other people dancing around your area. We were making friends, dancing on couches, drinking straight from the bottle -- basically, a complete departure from when we first got there. Plus, we all agreed the DJ (Roctakon?) was the greatest to which we have ever had the pleasure of dancing. That greatly added to the night. Also, the crowd was very good looking. However, I was a bit surprised by the way some people inside were dressed. Not that they were incredibly sloppy, just not as fashionable as I would have expected. The majority were dressed well however. Definitely one of the top nightclub experiences of my life. Highly recommended!

Don't go for ambience. Go for the cheap, ginormous lagers. The food is cheap and not so bad. cocktails are reasonable, too. Occasionally folks with light up near the no smoking sign. sometimes there are DJs and kids dancing, other nights it's older locals chatting. Oscar's is a good dive.
