by karen s. on Very cool place! When we first arrived I was a little nervous because of the shakiness of the boat. I was not sure if that would mix well with alcohol and wedge shoes (which is advice that I got from a rateclubser before going). On a weeknight, when there is a breeze and the weather is beautiful this is the place to be!!! It is a self serve location, so you have to find your own tables/seats, order your drinks from a bar, as well as any food. There is NO SERVICE! Which was my only complaint when I arrived a very crowded Saturday evening and had to keep and eye out for over 30 minutes for a table. The seasoned old-bay fries are delicious! GREAT place to watch the sun set!!!
by Wes M. on Wow. Only thing to say...wow. If you looked up classic SF ambience in the dictionary, there would be a picture of the inside of Bimbo's. I like to praise places for being "dark and red" a lot, but Bimbo's is the darkest and the reddest, not to mention the biggest. This place is cavernous. And it's got history too, I think it's been here since the 30's. Not surprising then that it feels so classy inside. We came here to see Zepparella, the all-girl Led Zeppelin cover band (how cool is that?) and Notorious, an all-around cover band (aka a wedding band). It was a great show, but most of all it's a great venue.
