by jim z. on The one and only reason you would come to Factory is to dance on a Friday or Saturday night. Dance in a big space that is. Sure most of the bars have dance floors, but they are tiny and packed... the Factory has huge dance floors, kind of like Tigerheat. So in that sense it is like a 21+ Tigerheat. So for that purpose alone, a spacious dance floor with pop videos, it is okay. Also, the bathrooms are nice and spacious as well. But there are many things wrong with it, including location (west of Robertson!), terrible layout, rude staff, poor ventilation. Worst of all, the drinks. The prices are consistent with other Weho bars like Mickys or Eleven, but the pour is much weaker. If you get a mixed cocktail, they literally put in and measure one shot (sounds like the Avalon). Not to mention a bottle of Arrowhead is $4, it makes theme park water look cheap. It's also not so crowded which can be good or bad depending your taste. Usually it gets busy by midnight, but there's always space to breathe. Completely dead before midnight. There is a cover but that can be easily avoided if you plan ahead. Definitely not worth ever paying cover for.
by Eric K. on This is an open letter to all of our past, present and future Guests of Loca Luna. Loca Luna has moved to 550 Amsterdam Avenue. We are now located directly on beautiful Piedmont Park. Since opening on January 11th, 2008 we have had much success. We are very pleased with our new location and plan on residing at Amsterdam Walk for many years to come. We now have complimentary valet parking, as well as free self parking. We were very sad to see the old Location close, but are equally excited about our new location. We will soon be featuring a Carnival themed show every Friday kicking off on April 29th. Show starts at 9PM. We still feature Atlanta's best Salsa and Merengue show every Saturday starting at 9PM. We will be featuring a live Entertainment Saturday and Sunday brunch beginning April 19th. We are now open 7 nights a week, so please come join us and ask for Eric. I would like to meet you and buy you a drink. I started Loca Luna over 9 years ago and have had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people. Some of you have become great friends. I have been in the Restaurant business at every level for 23 years. I work very hard at delivering the very best Tapas, Drinks, Entertainment, Atmosphere and most importantly a level of Service that everyone Expects and Deserves. I have recently implemented a 40 page Service Training Manual. Every single Member of our Service Team has been retrained and every new Team member will be trained at the highest level of standard we should all expect, while still making sure we're all having a good time. Thank you all for your comments, whether they were a positive or negative reflection on all of us here at Loca Luna. They are always taken seriously and are always appreciated.
