This is a review for Control - Friday nights. I should have paid attention when its posted as 18 and over. Needless to say, it felt like I was in the middle of kids night in LA. Is my 2 star review based solely on that? No, but its definitely worth mentioning. Also never mind It seemed I was practically babysitting 3 drunk friends who either had to pee, got bounced from the front or argued with the bouncer about their presold online ticket. Im not going to even base my review on the talent that night, since I suppose it changes and whether you enjoy Dubstep might be more of an indication of your desire to roll... I havent been to a Giant promoted event since they switched their main venue from Vanguard to Avalon. I've had great times at Vanguard on Saturday nights, although ticket and drinks prices were more expensive, everything seems well organized, lots of room if you want to search for it and a place to chill outside. This was the opposite. The line outside was just a mess. Nobody knew where to go. There were different ppl with just email reservations, pre-sold tickets and general admission. But NO clear will call or indication of where to go. The bouncers were NOT helpful. Long story short, dont bother with presold, its more expensive. Dont bother with Giant's email reservation. Get on the guestlist thru http://THEBBEGROUP.comThank you AGAIN Ben for being nice and letting us in thru your separate entrance. Youve got me as a loyal follower now.. I am not a fan of this theater setup either. The main floor is just absolutely packed and no ventilation. I didnt get up to the balcony level, but looking up it looked like just a bunch of douchebags scoping out their next prey. The small side room with MUCH better house DJ's was way too tiny. And the front lobby was too busy to find a place to chill out. And theres just no where else to go... Really, this is just a horrible venue. Eventho the talent and crowd may not be as good for a Friday, I am hesitant to go back on a Saturday when the actual big names come.

The Estate earns barely one star. I write from the perspective of a VIP who paid $950 for a table on the night Audrina from The Hills came. Walter, VIP host or head of security was non-existent. I had to go to the door to get half of my guests who waited in 32F weather for the linemen to listen to them. Then, on this lovely freezing ass evening, someone demanded to leave the doors open, sending a draft to my table that froze my guests and made things very uncomfortable. When I asked my table to be moved, some guy name Greg was less than kind about their problem and basically said we could move until the other guests came. So, for $950 I got no VIP treatment, a bunch of problems and no one even came by to ask if I wanted to meet the guest of honor, duh... does anyone at The Estate know a single thing about wooing table customers or do they just hope to survive until all the VIP's figure out that buying a table at Cheers will get better service. Not worth the money and the DJ ws marginal, at best.
