Place is beautiful, but the service is really low end. They have a ton of employees, everywhere, but even in a day with few customers, service is worse than a donut shop. This was not a one off bad day, I wrote this after seeing this sloppiness for a while. Service inside the music club is actually good and prompt. Common mistakes is that they forget orders, send you incorrect items, or give you appetizer at the end of your meal, etc etc Btw don't order a capuchino, they serve it in a wide miso soup bowl, so it tastes like coffee miso soup. Yoshi's: change your floor managers, I see them all the time doing nothing, and don't be cute with the miso bowl capuchino, flavor goes first, not the bowl, coffee, as wine, changes flavor depending on the container.

I made it into Nick's with some friends after long day of marching up Polk street all day for Santarchy.  A climactic end to a great adventure.   Inside, there was plenty of seating, some David Lynchesque looking chandeliers, and some inviting looking booths and tables. Good stuff here, I ordered 2 carne asada tacos Nick's way.  If you've had tacos from a legitimate taqueria, you're probably pretty close to these.  The only difference being the crispy corn tortilla.  It's a nice twist, and the tacos are packed with beans and a lot of nicely flavored meat. As it turns out the water coolers they have setup work out to be great for re-hydrating.

So I know this place is a shithole, and that I knew that going in. If you are going to be a shithole, own it, with the dingy floors, gross Swine flu carrying popcorn machine, etc., don't try to price out your beers as though you are the hot nightclub. All I wanted was one Guinness on a Wednesday night to catch the end of the Giants game. The lame excuse for a bartender starts to pour the Guinness, comes back and asks me for $5.75. Not a problem, but he sits there and waits for me to pay him.......before he even serves me, (WTF) so I give him $7. He then brings back a Guinness in some shitty 14oz excuse for a pint glass, instead of the customary 20 oz. Imperial pint that it is supposed to be served in. After taking a few sips, I ask him if this is customary for a $5.75 Guinness and his answer is yes and walks away without an explanation or even smart ass comeback that I could appreciate from a shithole dive bartender. If you are going to be a dive bar in the Marina, charge dive bar prices, but $5.57 for a 14 oz. Guinness, I could go to Johny Foley's in Union Square and pay that for a 20 oz. Guinness. This place has the worst bartenders.....50 year old bald guys should have some personality at a dive..... Either own your filth or clean up your shitty bar for those prices
