by Lara S. on This club is pretty nice inside, I was impressed by the decor and size. The dance floor wasn't huge, but a decent size I suppose. I had fun, the music was good and the drinks were made up to par. The parking situation wasn't bad either, just 5 bucks in the parking garage down the alley behind the club--wayyyy better than most Hollywood venues. I would probably go there again, but not on a Saturday, and I'll tell you why.... (This is the MAIN reason I knocked off a star.) See, a promoter buddy of mine told me that Saturdays are "Asian Night" and I didn't believe him b/c I thought he was just trying to get me to attend his gig instead. So I decided to aim to be @ My House at 10pm, which was good b/c the line wasn't long at all at that time. But when we got there.....turns out,...my promoter friends was NOT lying at all. Apparently Saturday nights a promoting group called HOUSE OF GLAM (headed by some guy David Chou) takes over & decides who enters. Now...don't get me wrong, I don't mind partying with Asians or anything, but I was really disappointed to learn that such a beautiful venue would hand over their front door access to a group that discriminates against NON-ASIANS. That's right,.... not only did they give us trouble getting in, but they charged each of us $20 (even the girls) for entrance, while everyone else waltzed in for free. David Chou is an unfair promoter--and if you want to be treated fairly, don't go to My House on Saturday nights until House Of Glam is replaced.
by Sara C. on went there on a saturday night... there's 2 seperate areas, one is small and the other is smaller. outdoor smoking area, dancefloor is tiny, drinks are pricey. altho they did have a drink special...i believ lemon drop shots for $5 or something like that. the parking lot next door is SUPER xpensive and its not just cuz its in l.a., cuz there are some descent parking in l.a. but seriously..$25 for parking?? NUTS! well, we had a great time either way. this is just some of my gripes. the music is just OK. a mix of dance or r&b. we didn't have to pay cuz we knew the promoter so i cant say how bad the line/wait is.
