Oh, Oscar's. Your enormous beers for 3-something dollars all day, every day hold a special place in my heart (and liver). I am a huge fan of this place because of the aforementioned beer special, the no-hassle service, and the creepily-endearing red tinted lighting. This is a great place to go with coworkers and friends - it is casual and laidback. And I guarantee that you will have at least one conversation with someone in the teeny-tiny ladies' room. Those random encounters always make my visit that much more interesting. Oh, and the pierogies are fantastic, too. Only thing is: they don't take credit, and navigating to an ATM after ingesting the large beers isn't always the best idea.

I actually prefer Little Baobab over its big brother Bissip Baobob a block away...Little Baobob is a little more intimate and rustic, and isn't nearly as noisy and crowded with hipsters. Everything I've ordered so far has been GREAT and I the funky cocktails are cool too. I've never found this place too crowded, but I think I've mostly come early or on weeknights as its close to my pad. I've heard on weekends both Baobobs can have a pretty long wait or you need reservations. Its hard to compare Sengelese food to any other cuisinse, but I love it and its very unique. Rich, spicy but not hot, earthy...I need a Baobob fix at least once a month.
