by Wilfredo Schaubhut on Came here on a Friday to use yet another scoutmob coupon. Arrived early to get a drink. the bar was packed so we sat at the front where there are some couches and chairs. someone (the manager?) was nice enough to serve us drinks after i stood at the bar for 5 minutes without being recognized by anyone at the bar. granted they were busy, but a bar this size there should of been at least 3 bartenders instead of 2. Not blaming the bartenders themselves....blaming management for not realizing fridays are a busy night at restaurants. Had a sazerac which was decent. oh yeah if its cold, dont bother sitting at the front....it gets pretty chilly. i'd also probably recommend that if its cold outside not to get a seat by the door. yet again another poorly designed restaurant entrance..... Sat down for our meal in the back at a small table for two against a wall on my right. lets just say this is a great location if you are left handed. if you are right handed, be prepared to fight with the wall all night when putting your fork to your mouth. and no, you cant move the table out further otherwise you will sitting on top of the already too close for comfort table to the left. Friendly waitress came by and we got a few more drinks and ordered our appetizer, which was the creole frites for $9. I have to say you got a lot of fried stuff like pickles and brussel sprouts. lightly fried, which is my preference. the worstershire sauce was pretty much inedible....it made my mouth pucker worse then eating a lemon. the other sauce was some type of creole sauce with only a hint of any type of flavor. yes, the best thing I ate all night was a fried pickle. For my main course I had the Mississippi stuffed catfish for $17. It was served over a bed of sweet potato hash, which was cold. The stuffed fish also had very little flavor. Seems to be a theme with this place. My lovely dinner date had the tv dinner, of which I did not try any of it so I cant comment. Our bill was $60 after the $20 discount for 5 drinks, an app, and two main courses. I really have to say I was pretty disappointed with the experience here. To top it off, the valet used the wrong key to start my car. yeah, my ignition is stripped so probably any key will work. Didnt realize it was the wrong set of keys until we got to our next destination, so had to backtrack to get my keys. This was my first experience here and will be my last.
by Boyd Dad on this is the coolest club in LA right now....girls/guys hanging from trapeze bars, swinging from silk ropes like in a cirque show, awesome music in both rooms, decor is amazing...absolutely amazing!! apparently there is a retractable roof over the vip room, didn't check that out but heard about it. service was very fast, especially at the bar upstairs. no problem getting a drink at all. in fact, i thought the glass of red wine i got from the bar was off, and the bartender did not give me a hard time at all, he tasted it and agreed with me and opened a new bottle. it is PACKED by 10:00. Arrive early if you don't want to wait. def worth checking out...enjoy!!
by Dan W. on Not sure of the food, but the service lousy. Came in last week after the Chapelle and it wasn't that crowded. Despite numerous efforts the bartender literally ignored me and my wife. Luckie's a nice looking club/restaurant but it has a serious service issue.
