by Tousaint C. on I have yet to be disappointed with Mission Rock but at the same time, I've only been twice. I attended the Fools Gold and Second Sunday venues (back to back shows). The Fools Gold show was 18+ which semi bothered me because youngsters = issues mostly, but surprisingly, it wasn't too bad. I saw a few punks get kicked out, which made me happy security was actually doing their job. The inside room was huge and the DJs were playing bangers for the night. I didn't see any hostility in the crowd and the audio was very good. Second Sunday was amazing. Great DJs, 21+ crowd (even though there were mostly cougars), and beautiful views. My best friend and I went and had a blast. For some reason it felt like security wasn't really on their toes for this even though. A few people were entirely too drunk in plain day light and some how managed no to get kicked out. It would be nice if people that are spilling beer all over my friends, got cut off and were not allowed to purchase anymore but what ever. Mission Rock definitely selects some very amazing DJs and is a beautiful place. Cons: Security can step it up a bit for Second Sundays and they can work on getting people into the venue at a reasonable speed. Drinks are way over priced.

There is a back area for music, which wasn't open but intrigued and would love to go back! Great bar, artsy murals bordering the place, dim lighting, great drink special menu as it's written above the bar on a mirror... clever
