by Kimberly J. on I've eaten at dozens of sushi restaurants, but Morimoto is by far the best. From the famous Omakase tasting to the chef's selection to the rock shrimp tempura appetizer (hands down the best bang for your buck), I've tried it all. The first time we ordered the Chef's tasting, we ordered the $100 option and got wayyy too much food. Although it was all amazing, I don't even think we ate half. The second time, our waiter suggested ordering the same dollar amount, but they would give us half of the portion and incorporate a more exotic selection of fish. Perfect. When the food arrived, it was indeed smaller. Everything was wonderful, but I'm not sure my taste-buds appreciated what they were indulging in. Next time, we'll probably opt for a less expensive option. My ultimate recommendation would be to try the Omakase tasting - just make sure you have ample time (and available funds). When I had the opportunity to partake in this fabulous soiree, there was a large group of us. In retrospect, I wish I would have jotted down what I was served as everything and I mean EVERYTHING was out of this world. You only get a little taste of each dish, but it is enough to send your taste buds in pure ecstasy. The atmosphere is also extremely chic and inviting. Very minimalist with a touch of vibrant colors on the periphery, the clean lines and low lighting keep the focus on the sushi, saki and service.
by aimee c. on Small, humid, dirty and crowded. But still... fun. I wish they had someone to go around and clear out the bottles and empty glasses on the tables. I don't know how many i saw falling on the floor while people danced... but it was a bit much for a place that small. Anyway... I'd go again haha :D
