This is my sometime i feel the urge on Saturday place.I am not sure why i was in Northern liberties but before i moved here officially and just lived with my now fiance and her roommates this was one of the first places i went too. We were at one of her friends apartments and after a few drinks it was decided we would go there. Now i cant lie i heard the name "Silk City" i had thought...."ok..5 girls all of them have gay friends..my girls best friend is gay...the name "Silk City"...is this a strip club?.....is this a GAY strip club? lol..(not that there is anything wrong with that lol) so i balked at the idea automatically...so after some "convincing" i decided to go. First i was confused as hell when i saw the outside, i thought this is definitely a diner or maybe some sort of small lounge...who cares i was drunk and i smelled food that's all i needed. We walked into the place which was bisected down the middle with diner on the right and the club on the left. Though the intoxicating smell of food got me at first it was bass of some hip hop song that made me forgo my original instincts and head for the dance floor\ bar. Funny enough it wasn't until the 3rd or 4th time there did i actually eat at the diner lol. I had alot of fun there. Its was pretty packed on saturday,if you aren't really into a packed house then Thursday are a little lighter ,but the DJ is awesome. I dint remember if he is there on Thursday but dude can cut it up seriously (they have guest DJs)Drinks are average in price. The breakfast (my favorite meal of the day as i mentioned before in other reviews)is awesome but wait for a table in the diner part because if you eat in the bar part you will lost your appetite due to the smell of stale beer. I love the place and the way its set up because in Jersey you get drunk then go to a diner somewhere not to far but too Far when you are drunk. Now you can dance ,sweat and drink take 10 step to the other side and eat some cheese grits..mmmhhhmmmm.ENJOY!

When we went to Shout, my friends and I sat upstairs, opting for atmosphere over a more extensive menu. The booth was cool, and I enjoyed being on the terrace, but I wasn't very impressed with the food. In fact, my friend found a hair in the appetizer plate we ordered to share. The manager brought out a replacement, though, so at least the ordeal was handled well. Still, my friend came perilously close to eating someone's hair. It's hard to forget. The pizza wasn't extraordinary, and what I enjoyed the most was my cocktail. I'd probably recommend Shout as a place to have drinks, not to dine.

Be sure to play the Soprano's soundtrack when you roll in. Ask for Rudy; if it's your first visit the 'Godfather' is the best way to try the hand-cut veal. If you ever find out what all the late model Cadillacs are doing there until 4AM let me know, there has got to be a story there. Families with small kids should go be a little early it usually gets pretty busy by 8pm.
