by Colin Roggenbaum on Superb cocktail program and tasty snacks. I haven't sat for a full dinner, but I'd be more than willing to, based on the bites I've had at the bar. On the night's I've been when there was a band, the cover wasn't too steep ($7 both times, I believe), but the bands weren't so hot. I've heard they get some good acts, but I think it's best if you get recommendations from someone who's hip to the scene (yeah, I just said "hip to the scene"). Stevie Wonder showed up one night for dinner after the kitchen was closed, and the owner offered to open the kitchen (he is Stevie after all), but he didn't want to be any trouble and actually came back after he ate and ended up singing with the band. If I hadn't heard the story from Kathleen, who is a superb bartender, by the way, I wouldn't have believed it.
by Sherman Hargreaves on Visionshock (promoter) had a great party at Suede. We were there for a bday because we wanted good music for dancing. Thanks to Caesar and the Visionshock promoter we had a lot of fun at the table by the DJ booth and danced all night.
by Adam X. on I caught the Black & Pink ball last night (celebrating women who ignite global change). Great evening... we were invited by the band and although we were comped ($120/ticket) i usually just walk over and happily pay full price as it's close to the homestead, and a nice spot. I thought about how to go on the review, and went to 3 stars (which it is definitely more), then settled on 4 stars. It really is a phenomenal venue, and actually deserves 5 but... its just not Bimbos or the Warfield, or the Fillmore. The best thing about this place isn't the sexy mezzanine that wraps around the whole south and east side of the venue, but... The STAFF is AWESOME!!!! The ticket girl was AWESOME, the coatcheck guy was AWESOME, the Bartender (bald if I remember correctly at the stage bar) was AWESOME, and the guy and gal guarding the backstage were AWESOME. They asked me to prove i knew someone and i had the band wave me in from the stage. AWESOME. Somehow I always get back there... but somehow i always know someone back there when i go so... with all honesty, my experiences are always very relaxing, cool, and complete. So... my best suggestion for you is... if there is something of interest going on, and it's going on at Mezzanine, go for it. Just be cool. Oh fuc it... 5 stars. Nice job to the management. That really is what it's all about and it's evident you are doing a GREAT job. Thanks, Adam BTW... The Band (Livewire @ http://www.lwband.com) sounded.... well, AWESOME!!!!!!!!
