I've been to this restaurant twice on separate trips to Philly. It's located in a great area in Rittenhouse Square - near our hotel and shopping. It's very pretty inside - the sangria was delish! The portions are huge - you'll never finish! My friends and I ordered the Insalata di Arugula last time - it was made with arugula, sun dried tomatoes and parmesan and drizzled with honey olive oil. The olive oil dressing was so yummy. We also split a plain cheese pizza and that was pretty good. A nice place for lunch or dinner if you're in the area.

I would like to back and just go to the restaurant, but this last time I only went to the jazz club. It was a good thing the show was lively and enjoyable because the wait before the show was despicable. We pre-ordered tickets and so we understandably assumed we wouldn't have to wait as long as the people who were buying them at the door. Nope. We were told to wait in front of the club door along with the other reservation holders. Come 10 o'clock, they decided to herd in all the other people first like cattle, while the people who paid 11 dollars more had to stand there and watch 50 people go ahead of them. Needless to say, the reservation people began shouting and spewing profanity. All the while, none of the workers seemed to mind. People were pushing, people were rude. I'm sorry, I thought I was in a swanky jazz club not a mosh pit! Eventually we cut our way in line and got in. If we hadn't done that, who knows how long we would have been waiting there! Having our order taken took forever. Getting our drinks took forever (I swear, it was over an hour into the show). And the place is so packed, you're basically trapped in your seat. I also asked for ear plugs (the person at the door said they were available for stage seats) since we were so close to the speakers, but they somehow "ran out". The worker asked for my table number and said he'd give them to me once he found them. Never got them. The Yoshi's people have got to organize better. That can't have been their first time having so many people (it was at the March 21 10pm show of the Lowrider Band). If you like the band, it's worth it, but otherwise, I'll pass on the jazz club.
