by Deb B. on We stopped into Blake's before the Soapbox races Saturday. I haven't been in a hundred years I thought before I got there, but it's the same place. Daylight hours are the only times I would venture in as a real woman. This is a man's bars and should always be treated as one. I do remember the days of going in there at night and fighting the men to get a drink. I was starving, so we got the slider's plate. It was actually very good! Everyone was nice as usual. Maybe nicer (we had beautiful men with us! heehee)! Blake's is a great watering hole, right at the park. If you want to cruise beautiful men, or just look at them, this is the place!

Evening Highlights (not including Rodman's hair surprisingly): - In the private chef's dining room. Long wooden table, tall fancy chairs, surrounded by glass walls. Awesome. - Asian Carne Asada -- what what? Spicy asian meat, reminds me a bit of korean bbq. Think they need to add some rice tortillas to it though. That would really add up. - Incredible shrimp tempura. Really the best I have ever had. Not that I eat it that often. - Service was not great. The waiter was all right, but not exactly what you expect for what you pay for. Overall, worth while night.
