I think I would be annoyed if I had to pay a 5 dollar cover to get in here (waived due to a friend's birthday party, and being on "the list"). Before midnight, the bar is manageable, with enough room to dance in our own little space and even have a dance circle with people getting down in the middle. But once it nears midnight, fuggedaboudit. The only dance you'll be doing is the sardine push and shove shuffle. Beers are only $4, but my friend's mojito was a club-like $12, and shots are around $8. Where are we, the Empire Hotel? But like I said, even if you are willing to pay that much for a drink, it's still going to take you a good amount of time to get to the bar with all the other sardines attempting the same. Music is generally good. Lot's of old school hip hop! Except I found that the good stuff came in waves. So, I would be in total dance mode and then then next few songs would put me to sleep. Lastly, I am about 5'6", and with a heel on I felt like one of the tallest people in the place. One of the only tall guys was sporting a curly-haired mullet and 70's-style spectacles. That was exciting to see every time I looked over the sea of people.

I decided to come here for my ONE dinner in Atlanta during my short weekend visit and was pretty pumped after reading reviews. Reviewers are right, it doesn't matter if you've made a reservation. Which I did, you'll still have to wait. The ambiance was nice - midtown vibe of young professionals, dim lighting, music w/ lound conversations, trendy, etc. I ordered the tuna tartare appetizer, scallops and my friend ordered the mussels. tuna tatare on this crispy sheet -i twas good w/ a zing of spiciness but way too much tuna tartare! sometimes less is more. esp. tuna tartare. when there is a whole smathering of tuna tartare given to you it suddenly doesn't taste as good. i have a suggestion - separate the two and let the diner put the tuna tartare onto the crispy bread. with the way its currently served, the tuna tartare makes the crispy, non-crispy. scallops - i read rave reviews. i thought, wow scallops for $15? well good thing i wasn't too hungry bc only THREE scallops came out. it was topped with what looked to me as carrot peels. scallops were cooked well but SO salty. too salty. amd these peelings, I mean, felt like i was eating trash. Top Flr- work on garnishing the scallop entree a little better. Mussels- delicious. too much hype, i give it 3 stars. A-OK.

When Bowery Ballroom took over the concert duties here it instantly improved. I've seen some great shows here in the past year and am continually amazed by the sound quality and the wealth of clear sightlines. That being said, I wouldn't come here for any of the club stuff.
