W-I-N-E. And no not the kind you're cranky 2-year-old loves to annoy you with. I'm talking delicious red, white, pink, and sparking forms of liquid goodness you enjoy with a side of Gouda fromage and pan. What I absolutely love about Vinotecca is the atmosphere. The bar has rows upon rows of bottles of wines. Small tables with bar stools adorn the majority of the space and in the back there are a few tables with chairs. Besides luscious wines, Vinotecca also offers different beers and liquors and several cocktails. If wine is not your first choice, I would recommend the Bellini-it's one of my favorites. Oh and Vinotecca is connected to Bastone, so if you're into beer, it's no worries. I'm a Merlot drinking kind of gal so any kind of red wine is a winner in my book. The Malbec and Chianti are one of m favorites. I've never tried any of the white wines but that's only because I prefer red over white. Vinotecca also offers a complete dinner menu. The mussels and Belgian frites are pretty good as well as the Artisan cheese sampler. I would recommend Vinotecca to anyone who is interested in having a quick drink or a long evening of wine tasting.

The food was really yummy, I will definitely go back next time but with my boyfriend (the portions are big). I had some chicken enchiladas and my mom had the shrimp enchiladas and I can say hers were better than mine. The only thing I didn't like was that the owner touched my shoulder when I was sitting and I was ready to re arrange his face with my heel. Otherwise, the food was great! I think they have dancing really late but I was there around 9 so I wasn't able to see how that was. Will go back soon!

Several important factors go into the rating for this one. First, the place is a block from my house. It's also a good, calm place ( if oddly decorated) to go after/during a crowded show at the Red Devil. Gay-friendly is an understatement. My roomate enjoys the pool table a great deal, and the rest of us enjoy the smoking lounge. Bonus points there- it's outside but has a canvas tent covering on rainy nights. Another important point- they're still nice to us even after being asked to leave once. (One of our group climbed up the DJ cage and made not so nice comments about the music selection.) Which would be the negative- the music isn't alway good, depending on whether there is a DJ, and if not, who put money into the Jukebox.
