by Luke M. on Nothing about District Grill set our expectations too high, but we still managed to be disappointed. I guess I'll just start out by saying our server seemed coked off his damn gourde and could hardly keep it together. So it's not surprising that everything was a little wrong. Mayo when it wasn't wanted, steak cooked not to order, a beer delivered that was still partially frozen (!) etc. Sober people don't make these mistakes. And about that steak, I personally get annoyed when a steak isn't served with a steak knife...especially if you are going to over cook it! But not everything was his fault. The gauc made with unripe avocados for example was probably not his doing. There have to be better places to eat!
by Albert Y. on Went to this spot just this past Saturday. What can I say? The place itself has a great look and feel. A long dark tunnel leads to the main dance floor and bar area. Dimly lit and haphazardly laid out seating highlight the premise that this is a place where you're really supposed to rock out (partying outweighs the design element). There area bunch of tables on the main floor with a small VIP area in the back but no-one seemed to care what the boundaries were as people were just wandering back and forth. They played good dance-able music and the crowd seemed to have a decent vibe going on. The only real detraction was the door but then isn't that like every Chelsea nightclub?
