by David K. on This place is a little too "poser friendly" for my taste (sometimes its hard to watch groups of straight men strike out with pretty girls). I used to come here with a friend of mine and it's very nice, even though it seems like it's the only building in the middle of a giant war zone (a.k.a. The Streets of Buckhead). I think the rooftop terrace is the best place to sit because anywhere else requires you to speak very loudly to be heard. The menu is broad and very nice, although this isn't really a place that I think about having a full meal. It's more like a pub with classier waiters (including a valet service). I love the Guinness wings and the entire appetizer selection is pretty good.

Probably because I'm not a weekend patron. Funktion on wednesdays understandably draws a different crowd than the normal weekend clubbers. Having superior DnB dj's dosen't really hurt either(TeeBee, Concord Dawn, Goldie, Tech Itch, Noisia, Evol intent etc.). Junglists abound and killer dj's bring the crowd together in a way that Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado just can't. The outdoor patio I can't really vouch for because I hate smoking. And, well, thats that. Indoors is another story completely. The sound system is amazing. The sub woofers have catch extremely low frequency with ease and high notes are crystal clear without buzzing. I was really very impressed. The seating is very comfortable with large overstuffed leather couches. The dj is elevated but not towering. Just high enough to avoid anyone bumping the table and skipping the record. Now apparently, the crowd is what most people dislike about this place, but seriously I have to differ. I guess the difference is the reason people go. When people go to funktion, generally, they go with the purpose of dancing and rocking the eff out. Which almost always makes for a bangin time.
