by Angela C. on * 3.5 Stars * - - I went in April 2010, just getting to finishing this review... I had been dying to get to any Richard Blais's restaurant since his appearance on Top Chef. The food in FLIP is tasty, and although small packed lots of flavor. I ordered the turkey burger with avocado and alfalfa sprouts w/a side of fried zucchini. It was really good. The only issue that I had was that I wish it were a little bit warmer when it arrived. The music in FLIP was a little loud and I found myself and friend constantly leaning over to hear one another speak. FLIP has a lot of good energy, but you can feel the absence of Richard Blais. It seems like it's almost in his shadows at this point, but I really enjoyed it. FLIP offers something different and interesting and in reasonable portion sizes. That was my first time there, but won't be my last.... a hidden treasure.
by Roy L. on We had some friends in town from Texas on a rainy Saturday so we decided to party it up; a promoter got us in here. It was a great place, very nice Asian theme to it. Very nice sided room, not many douchebags, and the drinks were actually decent compared to those other "megaclubs". I loved the DJ (although he could have played more than 10 secs of a song, he changed too much) and the violin player that played along with the DJ. The go-go dancers were cool too. This was the best club I've been to since I've been here. Pros, reasonable drink prices for that type of venue, good music, and well-behaved crowd. Cons: Long lines, may need to be on a guest list to get in, DJ doesn't like to play the full song(except for the Jay-z NY song, go figure). I'll definitely return.
