by Jessica C. on Georgia Aquarium was the highlight of my Atlanta trip! Even though this place is perfect for kids, I felt like one with all the cool interactions throughout the aquarium. For the record, this aquarium is the largest in the world and truly spectacular. I found myself saying "oh how cool" quite a few times. My friends and I bought the Pemberton Place Pass which offers to see both World of Coca Cola and GA Museum for a low price. I recommend you pay in advance and avoid having to wait in line. My favorite part of the aquarium was definitely the slowly moving tunnel that lets you observe all the fish and sharks. I also loved that the aquarium lets you touch stingrays, anemones and shrimp. Overall it's fun and educating. If you're in the downtown Atlanta area make it a priority to stop by the GA Aquarium. If you hate kids, this isn't the place for you. Also, try to show up early since this place has a tendency of getting packed.
by Laura R. on When I drive up to a place that forces me to valet and then charges me $5 for it, it's pretty much guaranteed a -1. I would usually valet anyway, but it's the principal. I went for the first time this Sat night as part of a Social Station event. We spent most of the night in the VIP area upstairs so I can't say too much about downstairs. (+1 for Social Station for keeping me from paying a cover.) I liked the general vibe with the couches and candle light and the view of the dance floor was sweet. The music was the average club scene stuff. The gogo dancer and acrobat girl were really really good.... +1 for each of them! It was way too loud for a VIP lounge though (same volume as the dance floor). Everyone in our party complained that we couldn't hear each other... one girl actually lost her voice from trying to be heard. As for the drink prices... I drink Macallan a good bit, and am accustomed to paying for it but $13 is a little high. As is $2 for under 8oz of soda. Overall there was a good crowd and an interesting mix of people. I have a feeling I'll be back since it's a new spot and lots of people are hosting events there. Not sure if it'll last long though.
