Food is good, but not worth going out of your way. Overpriced for sure. Interesting decor but too cheesey for my taste. I wished the waiter would have guided us better as to how many tapas plates to order for 5 people.

I looked at the numerous Ecco reviews on this site so i thought I would give it a try. I was very disappointed. The appetizers that we ordered were squid, pork sausage, & meatballs. The squid & pork sausage were good. However, the meatballs were flavorless. Entrees were pricey and not worth it. Our table ordered the roasted pork, fried quail, and chicken fettuccine. They were OK.. but I expected more based on all the fantastic reviews I have read on this site. Lastly, the service SUCKED! We had to constantly flag down our server for everything from cocktails to dessert. I understand it was a busy night but the service was the last straw on a bad night. I will not be going back to Ecco again. Once was enough!

I was the PR guy at the DNA lounge from 1988 to 1994 (or 5, I forget). Brian Raffi and Jeff Mason were the guys who founded the place, and were running it when I worked and hung out there. Legendary guys and gals worked there - Shawn, Spencer, Mac, Fil, Tommy Vision, et al - their names and faces are like a blurry kaleidoscope... I loved the place - it was home. Smelled like piss and beer (like all night clubs do when there's no one there), but it was home. I hung out here most every weekend night for about six years. I saw prince perform here, and tons of other bands as well. It was the first night club I worked for in SoMa when Soma was hot, but not the last (Up and Down, the Oasis, the Ace Cafe, Paradise, Transmission, etc etc etc etc) Most of my time spent there was in the daytime funnily enough, because that's when all of the planning happened. I had my wedding reception there. Nuff said.
