My friends took me here for the show (which was great), but I never expected the food to actually be good. I was pleasantly surprised. From appetizers to dessert, everything was superb. As this place has been reviewed hundreds of times, I'll keep this short; however, I recommend the experience to anyone wanting to do something fun, unusual and involving interesting food. I was, however, disappointed a bit in the cliental. I understand that you are drinking, and at a risqué show, but watching people endlessly groping the performers made me feel bad for them. You want to be rude, go to a strip club. (shrug) For all I know, the performers could care less, but I imagine it gets old.

Watch that first step...it's a dosie! I love Cafe Du Nord. You get the feeling as if you're walking into a 1920's speakeasy. Wonderful! Okay, maybe there isn't a password to tell Tiny who has piercing eyes behind a seven foot bolted lead door with only a two by four inch opening, but it the interior has that feeling. Heavy burgundy and black drapery adorn the dance/stage area that is accompanied by orange and purple lighting. There are a handful of tables for two off to the right of the stage and plenty of standing room. The bartenders are great offering a fine selection of this or that. If I see Hendricks Gin sitting on any establishment's shelf...I'm there! Offering about six or seven beers on drought, they run the gamut from a Tiny Reindeer, to Racer 5, Nut Brown Ale and Scrimshaw (very tasty by the way)! The sound in this place is best suited for acoustic guitar players. If you're there to see a performer you love, be careful as words can be lost in the conversation going on around you the further away you are from the stage. Overall, a great place to meet up for drinks in a comfortable, laid back, throw-back to the 1920's oasis!
