by Uyen L. on Love the decor! Asian theme with lanterns everywhere. Two levels meaning two dance floors and two bars...thumbs up for that. A lot of room to dance and plenty of places to sit and chill.
by Nicole K. on The venue is cool and the music mashups are fun and good but if they're affiliated closely with the people who throw Bootie at their venue, then I give it two thumbs DOWN. Wish I could give it less. I'm not sure if all events at DNA lounge are the same, but it's a real shame about Bootie. It could have so much potential if they didn't charge $12 after 10pm, $10 for drinks, and have the worst service in the city. I'm not sure why people give it such great reviews. Do people think it's normal to pay so much for drinks and cover in San Francisco? Trust me, there are FAR BETTER bars/clubs to dance and have a great time that are much cheaper and whose wait staff is much nicer. Honestly, because of my terrible experience with service and overpricing at Bootie, I probably will never go back. Too bad, the venue was kind of cool. Don't be fooled. **The A&D director of Bootie has contacted me and informed me of things i didn't know. But the only good it did was make me change my rating of 3 stars for DNA lounge to 1 star. He said it's the DNA lounge and security and dna lounge that sets the prices and that bootie sets the cover fee. I mean, I'm sorry but I've worked many years in the service industry and can sympathize completely, but this experience was still very lackluster, to say the least. Whomever does what, and whomever sets the prices- it doesn't matter much. It's a bad combination.
