12th Air is one of the most spacious and cheapest bars in gayborhood. It is not a place to pick up a date, or to have a galmorous night out. Come here for $5 24 ounce lagers, free snacks of mysterious orgin, and bartender Tinh. Many peope dub this bar 12th Scare, but it really is worth a try for a low-key night with friends. Its empty dance floor, 3rd floor deck, no cover charge and no wait for drinks makes this place a common destination for my friends and I. Happy hour runs from 6-8 or 9 every night and its ridiculously cheap.

This event was fun BUT the service is horrendous, the prices are ridiculously high, and the men are creepy. $6 before 10pm and $12 after 10pm. Drinks are between $10-$12 for well drinks. straight up bullshit. The bouncers are on some power trip. They're all assholes!! so incredibly rude. ALSO. they CHARGE $3 for water. That has to be illegal. Even when you purchase a bottle of water, they pour it into a cup because they don't want you to refill the water in the bathroom. The music was good but it definitely didn't make up for the rest of the experience. My friends and I had fun, despite everything, but we could have had more fun for cheaper someplace else- (like The Cafe!) We brought our own closed mini bottle of alcohol since we were already spending so much for just the cover charge. The bouncers check bags intensely. They made us throw it in the garbage instead of just taking it back to the car or something. The bouncer told us we could get it afterward but, to no surprise, they did not let us. Then, he lectured us about it- and I already have one father to do that. I have experienced plenty of bad service, but never in my 23 years in the city of San Francisco have I ever been so compelled to write such a review. I couldn't wait to get home, sign up on rateclub, and rip these assholes a new one. I'm not sure why people give it such great reviews. Do people think it's normal to pay so much for drinks and cover in San Francisco? Trust me, there are FAR BETTER bars/clubs to dance and have a great time at that are much cheaper and whose wait staff is much nicer. I'm not sure if the staff of Bootie is also the same staff for the DNA lounge, but if they are their managers/owners need to make some serious changes. **The A&D director of Bootie has contacted me and informed me of things i didn't know. But the only good it did was make me change my rating of 3 stars for DNA lounge to 1 star. He said it's the DNA lounge and security and dna lounge that sets the prices and that bootie sets the cover fee. I mean, I'm sorry but I've worked many years in the service industry and can sympathize completely, but this experience was still very lackluster, to say the least. Whomever does what, and whomever sets the prices- it doesn't matter much. It's a bad combination. I'm sorry Bootie, but DNA lounge's asshole security, bartenders, and prices gives you a bad name. Might want to cut your losses. Plenty of other fish in the san francisco sea.
