We were expecting this to be strictly cuisine from Spain although in my opinion it was a fusion of the cuisine of several Latin American countries and our waitress confirmed this when we started speaking with her. We started off with the "Pan Catalan", which consisted of toasted ciabatta bread, with tomato-garlic and thyme dressing. It was an excellent appetizer for what was to come. For drinks we had a couple of glasses of Sangria and I have to be honest, this was some of the best Sangria we have ever had and that includes the Sangria we drank when we went to Barcelona last year. After we finished with the Pan Catalan, we got some tapas. I started out with the Costillas Espanolas (Ribs), which were also excellent and you could pull off the bone with your fork. The wife got the Carne A La Parilla, which was super-good.....it was so good that I ordered that for my second round of tapas,LOL. The sauce is really what stood out for me in this dish, it was very good. We also tried the Platanos Maduros since the wife and I consider ourselves to be aficionados (a little) since she is from South America and I have eaten my weight in Platanos since we've been married. Anyways, these were really good and had a nice sweetness to them. They were in a "sauce" of condensed milk and cinnamon, which we had never seen before but that didn't stop us from loving it! I recommend anyone who comes in to try these. They also have salsa lessons here so if you feel like dancing after downing a few glasses of Sangria, that will come in handy:) Staff was very friendly also. Our server was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu and she was just the right combination of being attentive without being intrusive. We used Scoutmob for this place also and saved a bundle on our final bill and that was the icing on the cake,LOL. We love this place, I think we are going to be regulars here.
by Guan-Tai C. on I haven't been here in a year or so but my friends & I used to go here on a monthly basis. As Emily mentioned, the staff are *very* friendly & helpful. The music selection is pretty good and, if I remember correctly, it was BYOB. We threw a New Years party here back in 2004 and we had a great time.
