by Cort C. on Zahav.... You got Best Restaurant 2009??? Really?? Hmm. Have been DYING to go here. Finally went w/ my bf last week. Expected a lot more. Each dish was very colorful and beautiful, but it left me unsatisfied. I thought it would have gotten Best Restaurant 2009 for a reason, but it really left me hanging. The dishes were almooosst there but you would find yourself saying it needs something. I don't know I would really come back here. The environment is very engaging and warm but the food was a complete EH. So... Food: Some good some completely mediocre. Equals AVERAGE. Different flavors may at first excite the palate but in the end it really leaves you wanting more. Service: Our waitress was bizarre, reminded me of Flo that progressive lady, everything we asked a recommendation for she robotically smilled and said We recommend everthing. (??) ok? Environment: Warm, appealing, engaging
by Aimee B. on Circle Nightclub you failed me miserably. There are times when a girl just wants a nice buzz that turns into a borderline drunk state. This was my goal however clearly you did not want me to achieve it. First off are you sure your shot glasses are made to contain the proper 1.5 ounces of liqueur? Second, if your bartenders worked faster they could actually sell more alcohol, get more people drunk, bring in more money for your establishment, and thus have more happy and satisfied customers. Just some things to think about. Your DJ...I am sure you house more than one, however this past Saturday I couldn't understand what was happening with the music. It was almost as if he had no familiarity with Top 40 or if so, only numbers 35-40. There were a few old school favorites mixed in (of which I can't remember now) that I appreciated so I can't give all bad marks. On the positive side, thanks for not having a women's bathroom that contains only 1-2 stalls. (That always causes utter disappointment in my opinion). I give the attendant props for keeping tabs on the drunk girls and not letting them cut to the front of the line. What saved the evening was that I went with a large group of friends which is proof that even when the establishment lacks the night does not have to be lost.
by Bobby Puesey on Came in with a group of folks that love dive bars. Nothing outrageous here, but had a great neighborhood bar feel. The bartender, Claudio, was great and even played dice with us as we got near closing time. The locals were friendly and fun. Cheap drinks. $2 Busch or other rank beer is a must for any good dive bar and I was not disappointed. But I also had a Guinness. I liked having the option to have either on tap.
