Pure certainly wasn't the worst place or club/bar I've been to, but not the best either. Maybe I grew out of the college phase where drinking and partying every weekend with sleazy guys well over 30 years old in a college town, but Pure is the hangout for all sleaze, hands down. Girls, if you are broke, under 21, and semi cute and don't care about how the guys look or touch you, here is the place to go. The music was alright and the drinks are also just alright. Dance floor was upstairs and evey guy out there was either a jerk or a sleaze bag. You can't walk and not have someone touch you inappropriately either in the butt or slip their hands across your waist. HELLO MEN!? I'm here with my boyfriend whom I am holding hands with!? Have you no manners!? Two stars because I like the individual "booths" downstairs where we can just sit down and hang after dancing. Aside from that, Austin's 6th Street really doesn't have any fun clubs to go to.

It's sad when a cool place goes downhill. The first few times we went here we had a great time, listening to the piano man, having a few drinks. Word about town is that this place has changed owners; the lights seem brighter and the piano man seems to have disappeared. Really unfortunate. But worst of all, and I admit I'm a snob here, are the bartenders. They do NOT know how to mix a drink. Truly, a crime above all else in an establishment like this. "Up" does not mean "on the rocks," and "ginger ale" does not mean "coke with seven up." A REAL bartender would tell you what they do and do not have and not try to pull the wool over your eyes. Inexcusable!! We've been here multiple times for the ambiance, but I can't say we'll be going back anymore. Too bad, it's withing walking distance of our house. Oh well.
