Great music. Nice atmosphere. Good crowd. Great house music upstairs and hiphop downstairs. i love what they do with the vine plants downstairs and the decor upstairs is nice and sparkly. i go for the music and crowd :) and very recommended.

I'm normally not into bashing places, but puhleeze.... What is there to say about Sugar Cafe: 1. The crowd: all the kids who were always on the B-list in their twenties and are still always a trend behind and desperately trying to catch up now that they are in their thirties. News flash: if you're trying to be hip, hanging out at Sugar Cafe is not the way to get there.... 2. The decor: really cool, stylish and hip, if you happen to be time-warped back to 1996, when it was fresh and new. 3. The music: atrocious, please refer to #2. 4. The drinks: now we come to the crux of the matter. I could forgive points 1-3 if the cocktails were worth it, but paying $11 for something uninspired that's just adequate when I can walk down the street and be truly amazed at Bourbon & Branch for the same price? As i said, puhleeze.... I didn't try any of the munchies, so there might be something redeeming there, but even if, one good doesn't out-way four bads. Oh, and the entire time I was there I had the nagging feeling that Tom Cruise, circa "Cocktail" era, was going to come around the corner any second now. Which for me, pretty much sums the place up.
